From Patient to Provider: Argenis’s Journey

Argenis Obando SotomayorDear NicaClinic Friend,

In our last two emails, you met Enmanuel Jarquin and the late Gustavo Ibarra Marin. Today, meet Argenis Obando Sotomayor – a father whose professional expertise as our newest nurse gives him unique insight into exactly why we need new life-saving equipment.

Argenis Obando Sotomayor’s Story:

Argenis is living a season of pure joy. He’s the proud father of a delightful four-year-old daughter, and he’s expecting a second child any day now! As one of our newest team members, joining our nursing staff just eight months ago, Argenis brings both professional expertise and a father’s heart to every shift.

“Working here has been incredible,” Argenis shares. “Our caring team feels like family, and I love knowing that the work I do helps other fathers and their children. But as a nurse, I see every day what we’re missing. When a child comes in with a serious injury, when an expectant mother needs emergency care, when someone needs diagnostic imaging – I know exactly what equipment could save their life.”

As he prepares to welcome his second child, Argenis understands better than ever why our clinic needs the Sonoscape Ultrasound Machine ($18,500) for prenatal monitoring, and why the Digital X-Ray Machine ($45,000) is crucial for pediatric emergencies. “My four-year-old is at that age where accidents happen,” he says with a father’s knowing smile. “I want every parent in our community to know that if their child needs emergency care, we have the tools to help them – just like I’d want for my own family.”

“Every parent deserves to know that professional medical care is available for their children, day or night,” he adds. “That’s what this equipment will give our community – and it’s what I want for my own growing family.”

This is what professional healthcare looks like – when fathers like Argenis combine medical expertise with deep personal investment in their community’s wellbeing. His nursing skills help us provide better care today, while his vision as a father helps us plan for tomorrow.
