Our new Clinic CEO, Dr. Shawn Borich, M.D. MPH recently returned from visiting our Clinic team in Nicaragua.
And he recorded a short video about his experience.
He doesn’t mince words when it comes to his thoughts on the status of our programs and facility there. You can hear for yourself here.
If you’re not aware, Nicaragua is ambitiously moving forward to modernize. They are making huge strides with the new coastal road passing right by the Clinic. They are modernizing the public infrastructure everywhere.
This means our 20-year-old Clinic needs to do the same – and not just the facility itself. We also need upgrade our equipment and training procedures.
The Clinic team of 26 people works tirelessly, 24/7, with primary and urgent care, and holistic support. And they deserve to modernize to meet the pressing needs of the surrounding Nicaragua communities.
At the same time, we continue to serve the most impoverished of families in the Western Hemisphere… and continue to stretch our resources (despite inflation).
We have to be there for the families in the remote regions who have no access to healthcare.
Please listen to Dr. Borich’s candid statement about where the Clinic must go, and his vision for getting us there.
He is an Executive Physician Leader with over 23 years of experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, hospitalist medicine, and occupational health. He is a Fellow of the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
