Executive Director Impressed with Clinic’s Improvements to Benefit the Poor in Rural Nicaragua
Limon 1, Nicaragua: Juan Muñoz, Executive Director of The Roberto Clemente Health Clinic, recently travelled to Nicaragua to visit the team. The purpose of his trip was to assess the updates, supervise changes, provide leadership and support the hardworking staff.
Muñoz had a busy week but was able to accomplish much. He and some of the staff met with local organizations to develop new partnerships. He was able to see the building expansion that was created to make room for the Water Treatment and Distribution Project which is finally underway. Not only did he see the irrigation system and crops growing in the new Huerto Natural, but he was able to present these new programs to the members of the community who will be benefiting from them.
While there, the clinic’s staff members took time to get away for some rest, relaxation, and fun. They greatly enjoyed their day which consisted of food, team building games, yoga, and dancing.
Muñoz is proud of the clinic’s recent successes and encourages anyone seeking an international healthcare opportunity to check out the clinic’s Volunteer Program.
The Roberto Clemente Health Clinic provides health care to over 12,000 underprivileged Nicaraguans per year. The clinic provides general and emergency medical care, dental care, ambulatory surgery, lab work, and preventative health education. The clinic also provides volunteer opportunities for health professionals and students of all levels.
