Nonprofits Cooperation Saves Lives

Cooperation Saves Lives

Dear Friend of the Clinic,

We love to support other nonprofits in the area. Recently, some of the donations received by the Clinic were shared with “Los Pipitos,” a local nonprofit organization founded by parents whose children have disabilities.

We shared a lovely moment with disabled children of Rivas in which snacks, vitamins and clothes were distributed. Approximately 50 children with disabilities attended the event.

In April, Enmanuel visited the children who are part of the Padrino and Nutrition programs. The purpose of these visits was to verify compliance with the responsibilities of each program and apply the protocol to all sponsored children.

The protocol was applied to 64 children from the surrounding communities.

We used these visits as an opportunity to highlight the important role parents play in the success of their children when it comes to education, nutrition and health.

In addition, we took advantage of the occasion to deliver food to families who live far away and have difficulty getting to the Clinic to pick up donations.

We are completing the first-year evaluation of our complementary Nutrition Project, which consists of delivering protein concentrate, rice and beans to children who participate in the Padrino Program and their families, a service that is so necessary at this time in Nicaragua.

Our Clean Water Initiative aims to prevent health problems due to the consumption of heavy and contaminated water. Through it, we continue distributing clean water to families, schools and nearby health centers.

June is the beginning of the winter in Nicaragua, and our Healthy Eating Initiative is going strong. It’s now planting season, and Eliezer Holman, our agricultural engineer, and members of the community are staying busy preparing the land. Learning the importance of creating good eating habits and the necessary nutritional balance to improve overall health is vital in this area.

We are very proud of the members of our team and their efforts during these times.

The Roberto Clemente Health Clinic is supported by individual donations. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit registered in Maryland, so all donations are tax-deductible. We were recently given a Top-Rated Award by GreatNonprofits. We accept funds through PayPal, where you can also donate with your credit card. We also accept checks and stock donations.
