Dear Friend of the Clinic,
The first weekend in January filled us with joy and pride in our Clinic team and those who support us.
We were honored to bring back our Wellness Weekend after a long break due to COVID-19. With friends joining us from the local community and all over the United States, we relaxed, reset and connected with each other.
On Thursday, the Clinic team welcomed our guests with open arms during our Welcome Reception held at Rancho Santana.
On Friday, we participated in a wellness panel – hosted by medical professionals from the Clinic and the local community. It was followed by a wonderful seaside lunch at La Taqueria. Discussion Panel: Let’s Reset! Moderated by Dra. Hazel Ruiz.
Saturday, we were overjoyed to join the Clinic team at the Annual Community Health Fair, playing soccer with the kids, speaking with the locals and meeting those involved in the Padrino Program!
Sunday, our group participated in a variety of wellness activities offered at Rancho Santana, including pickleball, a beach hike to Magnific Rock and yoga. Then we had a wonderful evening at La Boquita for dinner.
Monday was a busy day. We began the morning with yoga at Los Cocos Community Gardens. And then we had a wonderful presentation from founder of the gardens and donor Jack Weston on the importance of nutrition and farming in the local community.
After that, our team took a detour to host local and international medical professionals at the Roberto Clemente Medical Symposium: Approach to the Patient in the Acute Care Setting.
Finally, to finish our retreat, celebrity chef Alex Belew catered a wonderful evening gala reception and farewell dinner. We spent much time reminiscing on the wonderful activities of the retreat and ended the night full of gratitude!
It was a trip to remember, and we cannot wait for the next Wellness Weekend in early February of 2025. Hope to see you there!
Sincerely,
Caitlin Kratz[email protected]
