Here is what your generous donation could provide for a child in Limon 1, Tola, Nicaragua:

  • With a US$25 per month donation for one year, one student could afford to purchase two sets of school uniforms and the necessary books, backpack and school supplies to fully engage in her school experience.
  • With a US$50 a month donation for an entire year, one student could afford to purchase two sets of school uniforms and the necessary books, backpack, school supplies, as well as an entire year of healthcare protection including a bi-monthly visit to our clinic, medicine as needed, nutritional assistance with vitamins and supplements, and a vaccination program. This level of giving provides a student with the comprehensive resources needed to succeed in school and beyond.

Sponsorship Changes the Lives of Children and Their Sponsors

Through one-on-one sponsorships, our Padrino Program creates meaningful connections and lasting relationships. The resulting friendships turn human compassion into real-world solutions, giving supporters like you a glimpse into the joy your gifts make possible.

When you begin your sponsorship, you’ll see the tangible effects of your generosity in a child’s daily life. You will celebrate his or her progress and share the struggles and triumphs of childhood.

How the Program Works

Two times a year our program coordinator will communicate by email about the progress he or she is making in school. These messages will also include a report from the doctor on the child’s current developmental and nutritional status. You can get your child’s picture and share personal information, encouragement and inspiration that you believe will help the child to grow as a person and to improve his or her performance at school.

We can also set up a Skype video conference with your sponsored child so you can practice your Spanish and help your child to learn basic English. This virtual visit is a life-changing experience for our Padrinos and children on this commmunity. You not only will be the sole sponsor for this disadvantaged child, but also a mentor and role model. Your credit card will be charged monthly for the amount you choose.  You can cancel your monthly donation at any time by contacting us, no problem.  At that time we will find a new sponsor for your child. At the end of the year we will send you a donation summary receipt for your tax filing.

Pedro Jose Reyes Lopez (6 years old) SPONSORED!

Pedro is in 1st grade and loves to go to school. His parents abandoned him shortly after he was born so his Grandmother takes care of him every day. Grandma’s only income is her husband’s pension, and although it’s not much, she continues her efforts to keep Pedro in school.

Pedro also suffers from asthma, so his Grandma not only struggles with having to buy school supplies and uniforms for him to stay in school, but also with keeping his health in check.
